Best Final Fantasy Games: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Is Officially Taking Over Xbox

A remake with room to grow

Square Enix’s first Final Fantasy 7 remake installment turns Midgar into a full game rather than relying only on the appeal of familiar characters. Cloud and Aerith return, while the expanded story gives players more time to reconnect with them.

Combat also encourages players to switch among party members. Alongside Cloud, Tifa, Barret and Aerith each bring a different approach to battles, making the group’s varied abilities central to play.

Now on Game Pass

The game is included with Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass. Subscribers can access it without buying a separate copy, adding the opening chapter of Square Enix’s remake trilogy to the service.

Yuffie’s Midgar mission

Intergrade includes FF7R EPISODE INTERmission, an additional story that puts Yuffie Kisaragi at the center of a mission in Midgar. Her campaign gives the expanded release a story beyond the main game.

Yuffie’s fighting style shapes the extra campaign’s combat, while her partnership with Sonon adds another dimension to its battles. The release therefore includes both the main remake and a separate character-led adventure.
