Danish Christmas: Cast, Plot, Filming Locations and How to Watch Hallmark’s Newest Holiday Movie

A mistaken identity at the inn

Marie, played by Emilie Ullerup, is a hotel technology executive in Chicago who returns to Copenhagen for the holidays. She joins her family at the Andersen Inn, where she mistakes guest Ryan Miller, played by Corey Sevier, for a travel writer.

Marie tries to create the Christmas tour Ryan expects, even though the inn has not offered one since her father died. When her mother says she plans to sell the inn after New Year, Marie hopes a positive story about Ryan’s visit could help change her mind.

Ullerup and Sevier lead

Ullerup is a Danish actress who attended film school in Vancouver, Canada. Her credits include jPod, Sanctuary, Arctic Air, Chesapeake Shores, Nature of Love and Christmas Bells Are Ringing.

Canadian actor Sevier began acting at age seven in Lassie. His television work includes North Shore, Smallville, Psych, Supernatural, CSI and Murdoch Mysteries, as well as Hallmark projects such as Road Trip Romance and Pumpkin Everything.

Filmed in Copenhagen

A Danish Christmas was filmed on location in Copenhagen, Denmark. Producer Linda Corolei said filming there in December mattered because the city’s holiday lights, decorations and atmosphere could not be recreated in the same way.

Corolei, a first-time Hallmark producer, said she wanted the movie’s portrayal of her home country to feel authentic. The film is part of Hallmark Channel’s 2026 Countdown to Christmas programming.

Premiere and streaming details

The movie premieres Sunday, November 1, at 8/7c on Hallmark Channel. Hallmark says it will begin streaming on Hallmark+ the next day, Monday, November 2. The story follows Marie as she takes Ryan around Copenhagen and tries to create a welcoming Christmas atmosphere at the inn. Her plans encounter festive mishaps.
