Samuel Jackson’s Forgotten Crime Thriller Officially Leaves Netflix Ahead of Taylor Sheridan Reunion

Cleaner exits Netflix

Cleaner was removed from Netflix at the end of October after spending several months on the service. The film is approaching its 20th anniversary next year. The thriller can still be rented or purchased on VOD platforms such as Prime Video and Apple TV. A new streaming destination may be announced soon.

The film should not be confused with the 2025 Daisy Ridley movie that shares its title. Cleaner was directed by Renny Harlin and written by Matthew Aldrich.

A thriller with familiar stars

Jackson leads Cleaner, which also features Ed Harris and Eva Mendes. The movie was presented as a replacement for Training Day. Jackson is widely known for work in Quentin Tarantino films, including Pulp Fiction and The Hateful Eight. He has also played Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Mace Windu in the Star Wars prequel trilogy.

Jackson returns to Sheridan’s world

Jackson joined Taylor Sheridan’s television universe last year, appearing in Season 3 of Tulsa King. He has also been chosen to lead the spin-off Frisco King. Paramount has released an early look at Frisco King and set its release for December 18. Jackson’s new series marks another project in the Sheridan universe as Cleaner leaves Netflix.
