Brooks Koepka again jabs Bryson DeChambeau over his ‘lives in own world’ approach to golf

Koepka revives the feud

“He lives in his own world,” Brooks Koepka said of Bryson DeChambeau. Koepka added that he did not think many people wanted to talk to him. The comments mark a return to public sparring between the two golfers. Whether DeChambeau will respond to the latest jab is unclear.

Years of on-course tension

Their back-and-forth included DeChambeau discussing Koepka’s abs in January 2020. That July, DeChambeau sought relief from fire ants during a round, and Koepka jokingly did the same the following day.

Comments largely quieted

After both players joined LIV Golf in 2022, their public comments about each other mostly stopped. DeChambeau later called the tension “electric” and said he loved it, adding that Koepka seemed focused.

DeChambeau also said he was not trying to be Koepka’s best mate while they were trying to win the Masters. The remarks in the account do not identify when he made that comment.

Koepka describes his approach

Speaking on the Dan on Golf show, Koepka said DeChambeau was “not a big talker.” He said DeChambeau might speak at the start of a round or to a player he did not know well. Koepka added that it was acceptable if players did not talk, saying they could choose how to act as part of their job.

Key points

  • Koepka said DeChambeau “lives in his own world” and suggested few people want to talk to him.
