Speaking with Grazia, Jacobson said she had never publicly declared, “I am a lesbian.” She said she had shared an article about lesbian fashion, and that media outlets interpreted it as a statement about her identity. Jacobson identifies as queer. She told Page Six that after a series of relationships with men, she had been concealing a part of herself that she knew was present, and that it became more apparent as she met Blundell.

Jacobson said she had used Raya after a breakup, when she was coming out and felt the app offered a safer way to date. She later felt more exposed as her profile rose through work on The Gilded Age and in fashion.

She said she still prefers meeting people in person and organically, adding that she remains romantic. The article does not report whether Jacobson is currently in a relationship.
