Seth MacFarlane’s Live-Action Dungeon Crawler Carl Series: OG Actor Addresses Casting Challenge
Hays on the Carl role
Asked about casting plans for the titular character, Jeff Hays said Carl is the character he is most excited to see brought to life. He also acknowledged that finding the right performer will be difficult.
Hays called Carl the most challenging character to voice, describing him as complex and nuanced. Because the story is told through Carl’s first-person narration, Hays said the character gets more attention than anyone else.
Princess Donut returns
Hays is confirmed to reprise his role as the talking cat Princess Donut in the live-action series. His casting comments came during a recent interview with The Nerdist. He said he did not envy the creative team’s task of choosing someone to play Carl, describing the lead as a particularly tricky character to cast.
