Lewis Hamilton says F1 has 'never had anyone like me' as Ferrari driver vows before Mexico Grand Prix to keep racing until sport returns to Africa

Hamilton backs his ability
Hamilton said he was unlike any driver Formula 1 had seen before and described himself as “built differently.” He also pointed to his reaction time in the most recent race, saying it was faster than that of some of the youngest people present. He said Formula 1 had “never had anyone like me” in the sport’s 70-year history. Hamilton is currently battling to finish second in the drivers’ championship.
Ferrari season improves
Hamilton struggled during his first season with Ferrari, but his campaign has been more positive this time. He won the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix in June. He said he would continue racing if he could maintain his performance, while acknowledging that his future in the 2030s was uncertain.
African race on the horizon
Formula 1 has signed a 10-year deal with Rwanda, a country in central-east Africa. The arrangement is due to begin in the early 2030s. The race would be the first on the African continent since 1993. Hamilton said he would keep trying to prove wrong those who had assumed he would not continue.
