Driver Dragged Head Teacher to Death and Was Found Guilty of Murder

Collision on Paddock Lane
The court heard Richardson drove through give-way markings at a junction. Mullins went underneath the Volvo XC90 as it continued onto a grass verge.
Richardson drove away
Richardson eventually dislodged Mullins, then reversed over him, causing what the court described as crushing chest injuries. He did not get out of the car and drove away.
Richardson’s cousin Gabrielle Debotte, who was in the front passenger seat, told the court they heard moaning after the collision. She said Richardson then remarked, “He is under the car.” Prosecutor Phil Barnes KC told jurors Richardson knew Mullins was beneath the vehicle and understood the consequences of driving on. A motorcyclist later followed a blood trail and found Mullins alone and barely breathing on a grass verge in a secluded lane in Lymm, Cheshire.
Conviction and family tribute
Richardson was convicted of murder and dangerous driving. He is due back at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court for sentencing on Monday.
