Godzilla, Cat in the Hat and More: Every Movie Releasing in Theaters in November 2026

A varied month at theaters

November’s lineup shifts from October’s horror-heavy releases to holiday stories, franchise sequels, animation, and biographical dramas. Among the announced titles are a new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat, and the latest Hunger Games film.

Other releases include the action comedy How To Rob A Bank and the drama I Play Rocky. The month also brings the return of Brad Pitt’s Cliff Booth, though further details are not provided here.

Godzilla faces a new threat

Godzilla Minus Zero continues the story of 2023’s Godzilla Minus One and is the 39th installment in the franchise. Takashi Yamazaki directs the film, which is set in 1949 as postwar Japan tries to rebuild.

A new danger emerges when King Ghidorah appears. Godzilla, having regenerated after its defeat two years earlier, returns to fight the monster.

The Cat in the Hat returns

The Cat must help siblings Gabby, voiced by Xochitl Gomez, and Sebastian, voiced by Tiago Martinez, adjust after moving to a new town. The voice cast also includes Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson, Giancarlo Esposito, Bowen Yang, and America Ferrera. It is the second film adaptation, following the 2003 live-action movie starring Mike Myers.

Christmas and crime stories

Ti West directs Ebenezer, a Christmas Gothic dark fantasy based on Dickens’ 1843 novella. Johnny Depp plays Ebenezer Scrooge, a wealthy, embittered businessman who dislikes Christmas and is taken on a supernatural journey through the past, present, and future in pursuit of redemption. The film is described as expanding on the novella.

In How To Rob A Bank, a group of media-savvy robbers film their heists and give the money to people in need. FBI agent West, played by John C. Reilly, and hacker Reagan, played by Zoë Kravitz, pursue them. Nicholas Hoult, Anna Sawai, Rhenzy Feliz, Pete Davidson, and Christian Slater also star.

Rocky and Hunger Games

Peter Farrelly directs I Play Rocky, a biographical drama about the making of the 1976 film. Anthony Ippolito plays Michael Stallone, an unknown actor who writes the screenplay and insists on playing the lead. AnnaSophia Robb, Matt Dillon, Toby Kebbell, and Jay Duplass also star.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is directed by Francis Lawrence and is the latest film in the franchise. It is a sequel to The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes and is scheduled for release on November 20, 2026.
