BMW X3 M50 gets extra 44 hp for 2027, Jalopnik reports

More power and quicker acceleration

The upcoming X3 M50 keeps its turbocharged 3.0-liter B58 straight-six engine. Its output rises from 393 hp in the 2026 version to 437 hp for 2027. BMW lists a 0-to-60 mph time of 4.3 seconds, or four seconds with a one-foot rollout. The prior model's listed time was 4.4 seconds, apparently without that rollout.

Rivals and appearance options

The Mercedes-AMG GLC53 makes 443 hp from a mild-hybrid 3.0-liter turbocharged straight-six. The Audi SQ5 is rated at 362 hp and reaches 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. Every 2027 X3 M50 receives the power increase, but the Black Package is optional. Priced at $3,800, it includes black 22-inch M alloy wheels, black brake calipers, and black-and-silver M badges.

Cabin changes and starting price

BMW says every 2027 X3 will receive cabin updates, not only the M50. Changes include a new PVC Softskin surface ahead of the touchscreen and fresh stitching on the dashboard.

The updates also bring ambient lighting to the center-console cubby and door handles, along with a new glove-box opener. Stainless-steel cargo-sill protectors are also added. The 2027 BMW X3 M50 starts at $67,500. The listed destination charge is an additional $1,350.
