A 30-year journey leads Jay-Z to headline Apple Music Super Bowl 2027 halftime show

Jay-Z announced for halftime

The halftime performance is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 14, at SoFi Stadium. The venue is in Inglewood, California, and will host Super Bowl LXI. The news was revealed during Monday Night Football on Oct. 26. A black-and-white advertisement featuring Jay-Z played as his song “Public Service Announcement” was heard.

A milestone in his career

Jay-Z said the booking reflects a long path from his album “Reasonable Doubt” to the Super Bowl stage. He described the opportunity as a dream come true after three decades of music, work and culture.

He is scheduled to follow Bad Bunny, who performed at the 2026 halftime show at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Bad Bunny’s set celebrated Puerto Rico and included a roster of celebrity guests.

SoFi’s previous Super Bowl

The last Super Bowl held at SoFi Stadium was in 2022. The Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals, 23-20. That year’s halftime program featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar. The performance was the first Super Bowl halftime show focused entirely on hip-hop music.
