HBO officially casts three Harry Potter series characters, including its most important parents
Three roles confirmed
HBO announced that Harry Gilby will play Charlie Weasley, Jasper Talbot will portray James Potter, and Hannah Chinn will take the role of Lily Potter in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Charlie is the second-oldest Weasley child and works with dragons in Romania. Though often mentioned in the novels, he did not appear in the eight-film series.
Harry’s parents shape the story
James and Lily are central to the saga’s beginnings, although neither lives to see Harry grow up. Lord Voldemort marked them for murder when Harry was one year old.
Lily’s decision to protect Harry helped him survive the Killing Curse. Across the seven books, Harry learns more about both of his parents.
Series cast and production
Season 2, based on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, is already in production. The newly confirmed roles are for Season 1, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
