Escaped Tennessee Killer’s Abandoned Truck Offers Clues to Next Move, Retired FBI Agent Says

Escape at Tennessee prison

Morley escaped from Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville on Sunday. Prison staff noticed he was missing at about 11:30 p.m., and a later review of surveillance footage showed him crossing the facility’s perimeter fence.

Authorities have not said exactly when the escape occurred. Morley is now on Tennessee’s most wanted list, and a multi-state search is underway.

Agencies join the search

Several law enforcement agencies are helping with the manhunt. An Illinois State Police spokeswoman said the agency had offered assistance to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Truck may offer clues

Retired FBI Special Agent Jonathan Gilliam said Morley’s abandoned truck could provide clues about his next move. He described the vehicle as a work truck that would have been easy to identify. Gilliam said the truck’s appearance could matter as authorities continue looking for Morley.
