Absolute Flash brings a dark teen titans reboot, DC officially confirms, with issue #25 months away
A New Cyborg Arrives
Jeff Lemire, writer of Absolute Flash, announced on Instagram that Absolute Cyborg will debut in issue #21. The issue follows the introduction of Ray Palmer, also known as Absolute Atom, in issues #19 and #20.
This version of Victor Stone has dreads and heavier armor, including spiked plates with red bulbs and numerous wires. Covers for issues #21 and #22 show most of his body intact, with a large mechanical left arm and cybernetic left eye and shoulder.
Titans Join The Series
Lemire said the Absolute Teen Titans will begin appearing in a major way in issue #25. The announcement places their arrival after Cyborg’s debut in the series, which centers on Wally West.
No promotional art for issue #25 has been released. Other Titans could appear or be teased in issues #22 through #25, but their identities and timing have not been confirmed.
A Team With A Long Legacy
The Teen Titans are generally portrayed as a next generation of heroes, often formed from young vigilantes and former sidekicks. Familiar members across different versions include Dick Grayson, Wally West, Donna Troy, Roy Harper, Raven, Starfire, Beast Boy and Cyborg.
The roster and origins shift across DC timelines, while the team’s core premise and relationships remain broadly consistent. In the main comics continuity, the Titans have faced foes including Deathstroke and Trigon, and stories such as The Judas Contract established their importance in DC’s superhero world. Former members have also gone on to become major figures across the wider universe.
