Jon Gosselin issues emotional message to kids after more than a decade of estrangement

A plea to reconnect

During an Entertainment Tonight interview, Jon asked his six estranged children to reach out and read Collin Gosselin’s memoir. He said he hopes they understand that he still loves them and urged them to form their own views after considering information about the family.

Jon said he wants to know how his children are doing, adding that they have become “perfect strangers,” according to his account. He said he has tried to contact them but that they have not responded.

Years apart from children

Jon shares eight children with his ex-wife, Kate Gosselin. He is estranged from twins Mady and Cara, both 26, and four sextuplets: Aeden, Leah, Joel and Alexis, all 22. Jon said he has been estranged from Mady and Cara for 13 years and does not know why. He said he has not seen the four other children since before COVID, “maybe.”

Memoir allegations and responses

In his memoir, Collin accused Kate of severe child abuse, child exploitation and emotional abuse. Kate has denied his claims, and she recently wrote in a TikTok comment that her children know who she truly is.

Collin has said he has not spoken with his siblings, apart from Hannah, in 10 years. He told Page Six that he loves them and believes what happened to them as children was not normal.

Jon and Collin speak out

Collin described the siblings as having been pitted against one another, calling the situation horrible. He also said his love for his brothers and sisters has not changed. After Collin’s accusations, Jon said he wanted to sue Kate, arguing that she should stop and that he believed he had grounds for a defamation and libel case.
