Eric Bauza, Voice of Bugs Bunny, Dies at 46 After Emmy-Winning Career

A career in Looney Tunes
Bauza became widely recognized for his work on Warner Bros.’ Looney Tunes. Like Mel Blanc before him, he performed multiple characters from the animated franchise. In addition to Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, Bauza voiced Tweety, Porky Pig, Marvin the Martian, Foghorn Leghorn, Elmer Fudd, Pepé Le Pew and Road Runner. His many roles made him a prominent performer in the franchise’s history.
Film and television work
His credits included Looney Tunes Cartoons and Bugs Bunny Builders, as well as the 2021 film Space Jam: A New Legacy. He was also part of Coyote vs. Acme, which premiered on August 28, 2026.
Warner Bros. Discovery postponed Coyote vs. Acme in 2023, drawing criticism from audiences and industry professionals. Bauza backed the film’s release and used Daffy Duck’s voice to advocate for it at the 2024 Annie Awards. Ketchup Entertainment later acquired the movie, which was released in theaters.
Two Emmy Awards
His family confirmed his death in a statement posted to his official Instagram account. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner listed hypertensive cardiovascular disease as the cause.
