Eric Bauza Dead at 46: The Current Voice Behind Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck

Family announces Bauza’s death
Bauza’s family shared the news Sunday through his Instagram account. Their post described the voice actor’s death as sudden and said more information would follow. The announcement did not specify when he died. Press documents said Bauza was scheduled to attend Sunday’s premiere of Warner Bros. Pictures Animation’s The Cat in the Hat, where he was to support the short Daffy Season.
A defining Looney Tunes voice
Bauza voiced Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and many other characters during 15 years at Warner Bros. Animation, according to Channing Dungey, chairman of Warner Bros. Television Group and U.S. Networks.
Dungey said Bauza brought happiness and laughter to audiences worldwide. She called him a valued member of the animation community and offered support to his family and friends.
Work across animation
Alongside Looney Tunes roles, Bauza voiced characters in Coyote vs. Acme, Forgotten Island, Muppet Babies and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He recently appeared on The Hollywood Reporter’s first Animation Power list and attended its related event.
The publication described him as a successor to Mel Blanc, the celebrated voice of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. Bauza said the global response to Coyote vs. Acme made the long wait to see the film celebrated worthwhile.
