Water Is Frying Rearview Camera: Land Rover Recalls 93,997 Range Rovers Because Moisture May Distort or Block the View

Recall covers five model years
The problem involves the tailgate’s water management system. Its drainage may not clear water effectively, allowing moisture to pool near the rearview camera.
Moisture can impair camera view
Over time, moisture may damage the camera, the recall documents say. When the vehicle is placed in reverse, the dashboard touchscreen could show a distorted image or no image at all. Either outcome could increase the risk of an injury or crash, according to the documents.
Dealers will make repairs
The repair will be provided at no cost to owners. Dealerships are set to be notified on October 29, with owner notification letters scheduled to be sent on or before December 11.
