Ukraine: Zelensky says Trump restored intel sharing after Oslo peace talks

Intelligence sharing resumes

Zelensky said Ukraine and the United States had a constructive dialogue in Oslo, where he met Witkoff. He said US intelligence sharing had been restored. “Early warning is now working,” Zelensky said, explaining that it allows Ukraine to know when Russian ballistic missiles are coming. He called the change important for the country’s people.

Oslo talks addressed security

Zelensky said the discussions covered security guarantees and thanked the US side for stressing that they must be strong. He said Witkoff would share different written proposals with Russian officials, after which Ukraine would hear his feedback.

A US official, speaking anonymously, said the talks included security guarantees for Ukraine, a post-war economic plan and a wider European security framework. The official described the meeting as making meaningful progress toward a coordinated approach to engaging Russia.

Witkoff heads to Russia

Witkoff is scheduled to meet Putin in St Petersburg on Wednesday to discuss proposals for ending Russia’s war in Ukraine. The meeting follows his Oslo talks with Zelensky a day earlier.

The US official said Witkoff would seek a route toward direct three-party negotiations and wider multilateral discussions. The envoy is also expected to convey what was discussed in Norway.

Starlink concerns raised

Zelensky said he also spoke by phone with US secretary of state Marco Rubio, who was travelling to India. They discussed what Zelensky called sensitive issues, including Starlink, ballistic missile interceptors and intelligence.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Elon Musk ordered a slowdown in Ukraine’s access to a military-grade Starlink service last week. Ukraine relies on Starlink for battlefield communications and drone operations; Trump said neither he nor Musk was to blame, while Musk had not commented.
