French PM says PSG-Barcelona match will not be cancelled despite protests

Match set to go ahead
Barcelona are travelling to Paris for Tuesday’s Champions League fixture at the Parc des Princes, with kickoff scheduled for 19:00 GMT. PSG, the reigning European and French champions, will host the Spanish visitors.
Lecornu said the match would not be postponed or cancelled despite the protests. The fixture has been described as a standout among the group-stage games in Europe’s top club competition.
Government considers curfews
Lecornu said a state of emergency could be imposed if necessary, but described it as a serious measure. He said curfews appeared better suited to the situation France may face. He added that any curfews should be local and partial, saying Paris would not be placed entirely under curfew.
Clubs report damage, support
Marseille said on Monday that looters caused significant damage to its official store on La Canebiere, the southern port city’s best-known avenue. The store has been temporarily closed.
Lille thanked people who offered support in recent hours, including store employees and passersby. The club said supporters and others had provided practical help and comfort.
