UK PM adviser’s wife: police rule out probe over Palestine Action post

Police assess Helm’s post
Police said on Friday that Helm’s post was being assessed to decide whether further investigation was needed. Officers have now determined that it does not merit a criminal investigation, saying it does not meet the criminal threshold.
The post appeared to endorse Palestine Action. The group has been proscribed in the UK as a “terrorist” organisation since lawmakers voted to ban it in July 2025.
Dispute over Rooney royalties
Faber said UK legislation meant it could not pass UK earnings from Rooney’s work to her. The publisher described selling a writer’s work without being able to transfer the earnings as an unconscionable situation.
Calls for police action
The Campaign Against Antisemitism, a British NGO, criticised Helm’s post on X and called for a police investigation. It said Helm should face the full force of the law.
Palestine Action challenged the government’s decision to proscribe it. The Court of Appeal ruled in June that the ban was lawful.
