No Kings’ Instagram page pulled during anti-Trump protests; platform calls it an oops

Account disabled during demonstrations

Meta shut down the No Kings Coalition’s primary Instagram account on Saturday as demonstrations against President Donald Trump took place across the country. The company attributed the interruption to an automated safety filter.

The disruption came during the fourth round of No Kings demonstrations since Trump took office in early 2025. Indivisible organized the coalition after Trump returned to the White House, with a movement focused on keeping political power with the people rather than Washington leadership.

Organizers lost access

Coalition organizers said they lost administrative access at about 1:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. They could not use the account to update supporters as events were underway. The page became visible again, but organizers said they could not access its backend for roughly four hours. One organizer said people could neither post to nor visit the page for about an hour and a half, during the peak of mobilization.

Voting events and White House response

The outage coincided with organizers coordinating nearly 3,000 early-voting events across all 50 states and Washington, DC. The demonstrations were the latest in a series held since Trump took office. White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis previously criticized the group’s emphasis on early voting in comments to Newsweek, saying it meant the group “should change their name.” She also described the choice facing Americans as one between Trump’s policies and “extreme Democrats’ radical socialist, open-border policies.”
