Fund used to defend President Trump in numerous cases reports nearly $2M in debt

PAC spending and cash reserves
A Federal Election Commission filing showed Save America PAC had more than $1.9 million in debt. Its cash reserves stood at $32,256 on September 30, down from roughly $1.2 million at the beginning of the year.
The PAC spent more than $5.4 million during the third quarter. Its total spending for the year exceeded $14 million.
Payments tied to legal cases
Save America has covered a large share of Trump’s legal expenses. Its payments included attorneys who represented him in the New York hush money trial, the classified documents case and the Georgia election interference case.
Criminal and civil proceedings
Trump faced four criminal prosecutions involving alleged hush money payments, classified documents and efforts to overturn the 2020 election. Only the hush money case went to trial, ending in 34 felony convictions; the other three cases were dismissed. Trump has denied wrongdoing and described the legal cases as “weaponization.” He has also long called them a “witch hunt.”
