Calling Starlink customer service? Grok is already talking to 20,000 callers daily
Grok handles daily calls
SpaceX announced a new Grok Voice model this week and said Starlink call centers are already using the technology to answer 20,000 calls each day. The company reports that roughly 70% are resolved without human assistance.
Grok Voice agents can verify customers, troubleshoot Starlink hardware, issue credits and ship replacement equipment, according to SpaceX. The company said the agents can perform these tasks in multiple languages.

A test for global service
SpaceX is betting that AI can serve multilingual customers without requiring a massive human customer-service operation. The company did not answer Business Insider’s questions about Grok’s supported languages or which calls still require a person.
Voice AI gains ground
Other companies are also introducing voice systems. OpenAI released GPT-Live-1 with call-capable support in July, while Google has launched similar systems for businesses. Consumer-focused AI is entering phone calls, too: Meta’s Muse can handle them for users admitted to its beta feature.
