Kamala Harris is expanding her late-fall campaign tour in support of Democratic candidates, setting up a travel plan that will take her across several key 2028 early primary states before Election Day as the former vice president weighs a potential future run for the White House.
Though Harris has repeatedly stated in recent media appearances that her immediate focus is securing Democratic victories this autumn, she has left open the possibility of another bid for the presidency following her 2024 defeat to Donald Trump.
The late-October travel focuses heavily on candidates seeking office as governor or in the U.S. Senate, creating opportunities for the first Black woman to hold the office of vice president to rally with contenders who could also make history.
The tour begins Oct. 21 in Nevada alongside Aaron Ford, the state's first Black attorney general, who is bidding to become its first Black governor, along with additional Democratic nominees.
She is also slated to meet members of the Culinary Workers Union in the state, which hosts the second nominating primary on the 2028 Democratic calendar behind South Carolina.
On Oct. 22, Harris travels to Mississippi to campaign with Scott Colom, who is vying to become the state's first Black U.S. senator since the Reconstruction era. Colom's bid against incumbent Republican Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith has increasingly drawn national Democratic interest.
Moving on to New Hampshire on Oct. 24, Harris will join Senate nominee Chris Pappas for an event focused on reproductive healthcare and abortion access.
During her tenure as vice president, she served as the primary voice for abortion rights within the Biden administration, particularly during the 2022 midterms. New Hampshire is slated third in the 2028 nominating process.
During her time in Georgia, Harris will lead an online organizing session for Florida Senate nominee Angie Nixon, who aims to become Florida's first Black U.S. senator.
This final swing builds upon earlier virtual and physical events, fundraising efforts, and voting rights initiatives supported by Harris, including work with the Democratic National Committee.
