Some Republicans in the House of Representatives have secretly admitted that they will lose the majority in the midterm elections this November, according to a new report.

Five senior Republicans on Capitol Hill anonymously aired their concerns to Politico, with one saying that the party just hopes to “save as many Republican seats as we can.”

“President Trump has made this election all about himself,” the House Republican said. “Now we have to survive that political storm.”

Term-limited Trump has been traveling across the U.S. to plead with his supporters to vote Republican.

“I want you to do me one big favor — pretend that I'm on the ballot because here's what happens. Every time I’ve been on the ballot, we win,” the president said at his rally in Wasilla, Alaska, on Tuesday.

Sixty-five percent of Americans disapproved of Trump’s job as president, while just 32 percent approved in a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll.

“If Republicans win the House of Representatives and the Senate, I’m going to give all adult citizens in the United States $5,000,” the president said in Alaska.

Despite Trump’s best efforts, some congressional Republicans are convinced they won’t be able to pull off a big enough win.

“These are not the moves of a party that’s going to keep the House,” another Republican lawmaker told Politico.

The super PAC’s president, Chris Winkelman, said the goal is to “keep the pressure on the most vulnerable Democrats and preserve a path to 218 seats.”
