Saudi Arabia’s Riyadh Airport Attacked Again, After Days of Houthi Strikes

Saudi Arabia’s aviation authority said attacks this week targeted two airports, killing three people and injuring 36, according to WJCL.

One attack struck Abha International Airport on Tuesday, killing two women, a Moroccan and an Algerian national, and wounding 28 others. The authority said those injured included Saudi, Bangladeshi and Filipino residents.

The Houthi-controlled armed forces claimed responsibility for both attacks. The group said it targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh with a ballistic missile and disrupted air traffic there.

The U.S. Mission in Saudi Arabia issued a security alert warning of possible drone and missile attacks. The strikes come amid the conflict in Yemen, where the Houthis have fought the internationally recognized government and a Saudi-led coalition since 2015.
