UK: Man charged with planning to attack Nigel Farage

British police say Joshua Kerry has been charged with preparing acts of terrorism, including an alleged plan targeting Nigel Farage, the Reform UK leader.
Kerry, 28, was already charged with the murder of Ann Widdecombe, a former MP and Reform UK spokesperson. Prosecutors allege he struck her head with a hammer while she was having lunch.
Police said the terrorism-preparation allegation concerns conduct between May 31, 2024, and July 8, 2026. Deputy Assistant Commissioner Vicki Evans described the inquiry as lengthy and complex.
Widdecombe’s killing prompted calls from politicians to strengthen security for lawmakers. Kerry is due at a London magistrates’ court on October 7.
