Super League play-off semi-final: Wigan Warriors 6-33 Wakefield Trinity - Wakefield reach Grand Final

Wakefield Trinity defeated Wigan Warriors 33-6 in the play-off semi-final to book a place in the Super League Grand Final. They led 8-6 at half-time before pulling away after the break.
Tom Johnstone scored twice, while Jack Sinfield, Corey Hall and Rodwell also crossed for Wakefield. Max Jowitt kicked six goals, and Mason Lino added a drop-goal.
The result ended Wigan’s 16-match winning run. Wigan had already claimed the Challenge Cup and League Leaders’ Shield, while Wakefield have risen from the Championship as recently as 2024 to move within one win of the title.
Wakefield owner Matt Ellis celebrated on the field after the match. Jack Sinfield, whose father Kevin played in eight Grand Finals, is set to appear in the showpiece next week; Wakefield will now seek their first Super League title.
