Husky Basketball Picks Up Another Northwest Commit

Barhoum joins the 2027 class

Barhoum committed to the University of Washington over the weekend. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard attends Clackamas High School in the Portland suburbs.

A focused regional approach

Coach Danny Sprinkle’s recent recruiting has centered on Northwest players. The article says limited player payouts may have influenced that narrower focus.

Scoring and questions to answer

Barhoum has a lean build and is described as a long-range shooter, but he has drawn limited recruiting interest. Besides Washington, his offers include Air Force, Eastern Washington and Portland.

He averaged 19.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.2 assists for a 17-12 Clackamas team last season, earning second-team All-State honors. He had scored 1,400 career points through his junior season. Barhoum told a podcaster that his body was holding him back from playing at the level he wanted; he will need to demonstrate he can handle Big Ten competition.

More Northwest prospects remain

Washington had three more days to add to its recruiting class before the national signing date on Wednesday. One possible target is Jalen Davis, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard at Bremerton High School and the state’s top recruit.

Davis, the 2026 Gatorade Player of the Year, averaged 31.5 points and reportedly is weighing North Carolina, Gonzaga, UCLA and Washington. Sprinkle regularly visited Bremerton to watch him last season.
