24 years after her final screen appearance, Bridget Fonda spotted in rare LA outing

A rare Los Angeles appearance
Fonda, 62, was photographed at lunch with a friend in Los Angeles. She wore black sweatpants, a white tank top and a yellow collared shirt, with sunglasses and a black crossbody bag. She last appeared on-screen in 2002, in two episodes of the miniseries “Snow Queen.” Her final movie role came the year before, in the TV movie “After Amy.”
A career in film
The granddaughter of Henry Fonda made her film debut at age five, alongside her father, Peter Fonda, in “Easy Rider” in 1969. Her breakthrough came with “Scandal” in 1989. She went on to appear in films including “Single White Female,” “Point of No Return,” “It Could Happen to You” and “Jackie Brown.” Her acting career slowed in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
No plans to return
According to the Daily Mail, Fonda told paparazzi in April 2023 that she did not plan to return to acting. She said, “It’s too nice being a civilian.” Fonda is the granddaughter of Henry Fonda and the daughter of Peter Fonda. Jane Fonda is her aunt, and Bridget said the press tried to cast them as rivals.
Family and reflections
Fonda married Danny Elfman in 2003. Elfman is a film composer and the frontman for Oingo Boingo; the couple welcomed their son, Oliver, in 2005. In a 1993 interview with Movieline, Fonda wondered how her career might have felt without her family name. She said she sometimes wondered whether she would feel more at peace if she knew she had succeeded entirely on her own.
