Deadspin: Broncos WR Jaylen Waddle exits against Cardinals with chest injury

Injury late in Denver’s win
Waddle was hurt with fewer than five minutes left in Denver’s 30-16 win over Arizona. During a reverse, he lost control of a pitch from Bo Nix and dove for the ball as Cardinals player Josh Sweat landed on him.

Chest issue during the week
Waddle had been managing a chest injury before Sunday’s game. He was limited in practice Wednesday and Thursday, then took part fully Friday and was not given an injury designation. The article did not report whether Waddle would miss future games.
Payton criticizes play call
Broncos head coach Sean Payton faulted himself for the reverse that preceded Waddle’s injury. At his postgame press conference, he called the decision a poor one and apologized.
Denver defensive end Zach Allen also was hurt in the fourth quarter, with a hamstring issue. He told reporters he was fine after making three tackles against Arizona.
