F-16 fighter jets intercepted plane violating airspace over Cincinnati while Trump spoke at nearby rally

Interception over Cincinnati

NORAD said F-16 fighter aircraft intercepted a general aviation plane flying through restricted airspace over Cincinnati on Saturday. The interception occurred at around 3 p.m. CT. Air Force officials reminded pilots on Sunday to check airspace restrictions when planning flights and before takeoff. The FAA distributes limits through Notices to Airmen, known as NOTAMs, which are regularly updated.

Other recent interceptions

In August, fighter jets intercepted a civilian plane that entered restricted air over Geneva, Ohio, where Trump was attending the 2026 Patriot Games, NORAD said. The teen athletic tournament was backed by the White House and the president’s supporters. NORAD also said jets were scrambled around that time over Bedminster, New Jersey, where one of Trump’s golf courses is located.

Earlier New Jersey incident

In July, a similar interception took place over East Rutherford, New Jersey. NORAD said planes violated flight restrictions established for the World Cup final.
