“Kisses my ass”: Trump claims Google now listens to him

Trump touts greater influence
Speaking at a rally on Saturday, October 17th, in Highland Heights, Kentucky, Trump described his second term as more powerful than his first. While listing accomplishments, he mentioned renaming the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario.
Trump said Google would not have accepted his call during his first term, adding that it now “kisses my ass,” according to Trump. He referred to calling Google Maps as he made the claim.
Google describes its naming policy
Trump appeared to imply that he had personally persuaded Google to reflect the name change. That suggestion seems to conflict with the company’s explanation of how its map names are determined.
Google said it follows official government sources, identifying GNIS for the US. The company also said its approach reflects its long-standing policy for bodies of water whose names vary between countries.
Silicon Valley and Trump
The report says Silicon Valley firms, including Google and CEO Sundar Pichai, have sought to ingratiate themselves with Trump during his second term. It cites gifts, compliments and donations to projects associated with him. Google did not immediately return a request for comment.
