Gaza funeral held for 75 Palestinians as remains recovered beneath ruins

Burial in Gaza City
The Health Ministry announced the burial after remains were recovered from buildings destroyed since Israel began its war on Gaza in October 2023. Most of the victims were from Daraj, in northeastern Gaza City.
The recovered material included body parts and personal belongings. It was wrapped in Palestinian flags before the burial, according to the ministry.
Families caught in bombardments
The remains were discovered beneath the rubble of homes and other buildings. The funeral brought the 75 victims together for burial.
Recovery efforts continue
Civil Defence believes another 8,000 Palestinians remain trapped under rubble across Gaza. UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, says about 200,000 buildings in Gaza are damaged or destroyed.
