United finally made it easier to see if your flight has Starlink

Checking for Starlink service

United’s new tool helps passengers see whether their flight is expected to have Starlink, the airline’s fast, free internet service. It also reflects real-time updates when aircraft assignments change at the last minute, United says.

The information can still be wrong if United switches the plane assigned to a flight. Previously, the airline used texts, emails and its app to tell passengers whether Starlink was scheduled on their flight; the new tool lets them check for later changes.

Fleet installations continue

As of Thursday morning, 639 United aircraft had Starlink, representing about 43% of the airline’s fleet. United also said nearly half of its daily departures are equipped with the service. The airline is installing Starlink on about 20 aircraft each week and plans to complete the work by the end of 2027.

United seeks new customers

United is also pursuing customers who have loyalty status with Delta or American by offering to match that status. The offer encourages travelers to switch airlines and promotes United’s WiFi.
